Bio

Amir Boroujerdi currently serves as the In School Suspension Coordinator for the Dallas Independent School District, the latest step in his 10 year professional journey in public education. He has served as an AmeriCorps college access coach, teacher, football & baseball coach, mentor, and appeal hearing officer. An alumni of Plano Senior High School, he earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin. Awarded the Cherubim Foundation Scholarship, Amir ultimately earned his MBA from Hardin-Simmons University. Amir is the recipient of multiple teaching awards: 2011 Outstanding DISD Teacher, 2009 Habermann National Alternative Certification Teacher of the Year, and the 2008 Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Teacher of the Year.
