Artist Diane Burko has focused on worldwide monumental and geological phenomena throughout her career by investigating actual locations on the ground and in the air from open-door helicopters and planes with cameras and sketchpads. Traveling from the temperate zones of America to those of Western Europe, from rain forests to regions of glaciers and active volcanoes, she has created paintings and photographs that merge a vision that is at once panoramic and intimate.
